Grandpa you gave me a house to stay and later land to call my own. Hey all I had to do was cut the lawn, with John, when the deer were not out... o we had a great laugh, I was watching too, now that’s a good memory. I was close to you then and shall always be. You showed me the woods and to hunt, that maple syrup, and the fishing, o man! You’d get so excited over the smallest of fish but you made me feel good. You me pushed me in the right direction and I thank you. We had a good time! Grandpa Ill miss you! I love you and miss your bright laughs, your warm heart, Grandpa, you truly are my inspiration. When I get old I want to be like you!

Dear Bill-
This is being written at the same time as the services are being held in Avon and although unable to be present we are praying as we write.
I only met you a few times in my life but you left a never to be forgotten impression.
First when my daughter Marisa and I accompanied Bob, Tina and the kids on one of their annual motorhome trips to Pennsylvania and New York and the other times when Bill and Marge visited earthquake country in California and joined us in a parade and other activities.
You were, and are wonderful people and I feel that we are all very fortunate to have Tina and Bob meet and marry and join families and have such good people to emulate.
Marge, May God Bless You All and please come visit us when you are able to and we will try to keep the earthquakes away.

Bill,
Your smile and sence of humor will always be remembered. Each time I came to visit Avon...I loved to hear you telling stories about the interesting history of the area, joking about the trains going by the house, and noting how much the traffic has grown on the street. I really cherish the memories of visiting you and know that you will always be rememberd as a loving and thoughtful husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Grandpa Bill: We have shared so many special memories together, you and me as well as with the family. You have a very very special place in my heart as you do with all those that you know. After the big move to Avon in 98', one of the first things you taught me was how to ride the lawn mower and yes, cut all four acres. After I got the hang of it, I loved it. I could spend hours out there riding back and fourth, all until that one day when the deer appeared out of absolutely no where and stared me down. Being a 12 year old California kid I sure wasn't expecting to see a deer that close and oh man... I ran as fast as I could for the house. I know you were watching the whole thing from inside the house and sure got a kick out of my reaction. We were both able to laugh about it many many times after. This is my most fondest memory of us grandpa. There were also many times after school or practice when you would be there waiting to pick me and sometimes my friends up. You have been there for me since the day I was born. Another story you loved to tell was a few minutes after I was born. You were standing in the hallway of the hospital and saw my Uncle Jer waking closer. You couldn't wait to direct him to where I was but then he walked right on by. You grabbed him by the arm and laughed. You then asked him if he remembered who you were. After that moment, as proud as you could be you walked my Uncle over to the room. I love you and have missed your laughs, your hugs, your warm heart, and your kindness. I am just as proud of you as you have been of me. Grandpa, you truly are my hero and will be missed by us all! Love John

My memories of Bill are of him sitting on the front porch watching all the traffic go by during rush hour. We would laugh at the thought of the 5 cars that made all that Darby Road traffic. It brings a smile to my face to remember him like that. It only took meeting Bill once to feel his genuine love and warmth. His sincerity will always be etched in my heart.

After losing Bob you came to me and hugged me and told me several times how fortunate you felt to have had some very special years with me and "your boys". You embellished how thankful you were to watch them nearby. You always understood and supported my decisions and always were kind and warm to me. Your many wonderful stories about your youth, your family, your neighbors, Darby Rd and so much more...will long be remembered. Most recently we spoke and you expressed more very kind words about "your boys"...and you also spoke of "your Marge" doing a wonderful job in your care at home and how much you appreciated her loving care. Your optimism and kindness will forever carry a very special place in my heart......I Love You......Tina

Bill, we'll all miss you. Your love for our mother these last 27 years was always there.Your love extended to my family and we all shared together in our good times and bad as all familys do.You have done countless things for me and my children, and I know you have put a little something in their hearts and souls to pass down to the grandchildren..
You taught me many things from hunting and fishing which we did everytime we got the chance too.You also helped me learn to fix things around the house also, from electric to roofs. we did it all...
May your days now be filled with hunting and fishing with Bob, and we all know how much you two got along... this is not a goodbye but see you later.. Love Ken
