Shirley Reidy Obituary

Reidy, Shirley Ann
Syracuse: Age 73, died Thursday at University Hospital. Born in Bush-nells Basin, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Adeline (Burlingham) Scamp. She was a 1952 graduate of Pittsford High School and a 1956 graduate of Nazareth College in Rochester. She retired as an Art Teacher from Bear Road Elementary School. She was a member of the Rosary Society at St. Andrew the Apostle and she enjoyed her monthly luncheon with the neighborhood ladies. Shirley is survived by her husband of 48 years, Michael; two daughters, Teresa (Roy) Sumfleth of Callicoon and Elizabeth (James) Lambie of Pittsburgh, PA; three sons, Sean Reidy of Washington, DC, Michael Reidy and James Reidy both of Syracuse; sister, Sally (Harold) Todd of Naples, NY; sister-in-law, Jean Scamp of California; two brothers-in-law, William (Betty) Reidy and James (Josephine, Predeceased) Reidy; four grandchildren, Kristina, Samantha, James "Jake" and Erin; four nieces, Terry (Larry) Mallette, Amanda Scamp, Virginia Sandbrook and Lisa (Eric) Ross and one nephew, Scott (Amy) Slager. She was predeceased by her brother, George Thomas Scamp.
Services will be Monday, 11:00 a.m. in St. Andrew the Apostle, 124 Alden Street, Syracuse. Burial will be in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday, 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. and Monday, 10:00 - 10:30 a.m. at St. Andrew the Apostle, 124 Alden Street, Syracuse. Contributions may be made to University Hospital, Neurology Fund #270, 750 E. Adams Street, CAB 326, Syracuse, NY 13210. Please light a candle in memory of Shirley at www.ballweg-lunsford.com
