Elizabeth Donzella
December 20, 2007
My deepest sympathies to the family of Joseph Donzella. I share the same last name and I believe there could be a connection. My grandfather, Carmelo Donzella, came to America from Ragusa, Sicily, in the early 1900's. His first wife was Josephine, who died in 1918 from influenza. They had two children, John (who also died from influenza) and Nellie (1911-1990). His second wife was my grandmother, Concetta Burifatta. My father and his brother came from this marriage. Concetta had two daughters, Angela and Emanuela, from her first marriage. They lived in North Tarrytown / Sleepy Hollow, New York.
