Dear George and Family,
I, also worked with Harry up in St. Lawrence Co. I still work with his first principal at Edwards Knox, who I will inform. Harry was more than wonderful with his students and co workers. His memory will always be with us. I had lots of his students after he left and know that they said "Thank you" a thousand times in their lives for all he gave them. May your special memories assist you in this time of need. Love,
Carolyn Gibson

To Maryanne (George) and Harry's family:
I just learned of Harry's passing from my retired speech friend, Josie Pingitore. I was also one of his colleagues from the St. Lawrence-Lewis BOCES Speech and Hearing Department. I remember him fondly from our meetings and really enjoyed his sense of humor, and appreciated his dedication to his students. I am so sorry for your loss. Harry truly touched many lives!

Dear George (Maryanne),
What fond and happy memories I have of working with Harry at the Fowler School in Gouverneur. He was kind and generous enough to give me a corner of his classroom to work in. His team-teaching with Mrs. Finnerty was classic--I will never forget their "toga party" and the class-made pasta!
I remember when Harry first met you and what happiness and fufillment you brought to his life. God blessed you both to have found each other.
I am retired now and living back in Western New York closer to my family which is how I learned of Harry's passing. He was a wonderful soul.

Harry was my best friend in elementary school, 5th, 6th, and 7th grade. I was a smaart kid and I'd get a 95% average and friggin Harry would have a 97%. I'd boost up to 97 and he'd be 98.5%. It was finally inescapable : Harry was smarter. I then moved out to Alden, the next yr he went to Canisius. We lost track of each other at that tender age. After high school I went to his house and his Mom said he was at Fordham. A few years later I called and he was, I believe she told me, in Colorado. I recall him fondly. I, too, became a teacher. A union president. I feel my life has been poorer by missing out on the man who evolved from the great kid I knew.
I am sorry for the loss of all those who loved him.

a Highlander by the grace of God.
From the lone sheiling of the misty island
Mountains divide us, and the waste of seas-
Yet still the blood is strong, the heart is Highland,
And we in dreams behold the hebridies.

Only met Harry on his last visit to the Netherlands, an amiable man, his love for birds was amazing, his joy for life exeptional. we dined together in a barge-restaurant and while Maryanne and Carrie visited my art studio Harry went on a kayak trip on the lake. Sympathy at first sight it was. His love for Scotland will send his spirit back to the highlands and it will linger there forever I think. To George and her family I want to convey my dearest condolances, I wish you strength and good health in this difficult time of great loss.
Harry, rest in peace!
