Frederick L. Witt

Witt, Frederick L.
Newtown, PA: Died November 30, 2007 in Newtown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He was born in Oak Park, IL and graduated in 1939 from the University of Rochester. For 60 years he was the loving husband of Betty V. Witt (nee Becker) (deceased). He began a long career with Scott Paper Company in Industrial Relations and retired in 1980 as its first Vice President of Human Resources. Fred was an active member of the Episcopal Church. He was an avid sports fan and photographer. His many other interests included woodworking, travel, music and horticulture.
Fred was loved by his family. He is survived by his three children: Carol Witt Garnett (Charles Gill), Pamela Witt Porter (James L. Porter) and Thomas Roy Witt (Consuelo Bedoya-Witt); nine grandchildren, Matthew and Andrew Garnett, Alyson Porter (Eli Torgeson), Kathryn and Kimberly Porter, Laura and Thomas Witt, and Alexandra and Derrick Bedoya-Skoog; and two great-grandchildren, Carsten and Piia Torgeson.
Fred will always be remembered for his genereous spirit, wonderful sense of humor and above all, his devotion to his family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0361. A memorial service will be held at Pennswood Village (date to be announced).
