Parley Pike

Parley Pike "Gone to the Cabin" Parley Pike died on Sept. 14, 2008 at the U of U Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born Nov. 8, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Robert William Pike and Delilah Martha Davis Fuller Pike. He loved his country and served in the military during the Korean War. He married the love of his life on Mar. 6, 1954. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on June 1, 1962. They raised their family in Murray, Utah; moving to Alpine in 2002. Survived by his wife, Betty, their eight children, Steven Pike, Susan and Micheal Iverson, Lewis and Karen Pike, Connie and Michael Adams, Glenda and Robert Sant, Doug and Marjorie Pike, Sherry Pike, Jeff and Jelaine Pike, 36 grandchildren, and by the end of the year 11 great-grandchildren. He was an active member of the LDS Church, served the Young Men of Murray for many years, and was an ordinance worker in the Jordan River Temple. He worked 36 years for Mountain Bell and Qwest. Funeral services will be held Sat., Sept. 20, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the Alpine, Utah Matterhorn Chapel, 285 Matterhorn Drive. Friends and family may call on Friday evening from 6- 8 p.m. at Anderson and Sons Mortuary, 49 E. 100 N., American Fork and Saturday at the church 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Alpine City Cemetery. Military Rites by VFW District 4.
