Laurie Ellison Obituary

Laurie "Beth" Ellison 1965 ~ 2007 Laurie "Beth" Ellison - our beautiful daughter, wonderful sister, sweet aunt and special friend, returned to her Heavenly Father November 7, 2007. She left this world peacefully, surrounded by her family that loves her and will miss her very much. She was born on August 16, 1965 in Provo, Utah to Roger Melvin and Rosemary Kirkham Jarvis Ellison, as the oldest of six children. She graduated from Jordan Valley School where she met many dear friends and was a four year graduate from seminary. She was involved with Special Olympics and won multiple medals. She was a member of The Graduates bowling team. She worked at South Valley for many years where she loved her trainer Iva. She also participated in and loved the Special Needs Mutual. Laurie loved parties and getting together with her family. She would give invitations to her birthday party several months in advance so we would not forget. She loved packing for and going on trips. She loved to listen to music, to sing, to dance, and to laugh. She loved to go to lunch with her Mom, Pat, Liz, Karey, and her sisters. She loved movies and could quote movie lines and music from the many movies she enjoyed. She loved practical jokes, to tease and to make people laugh. Everyone who met her has their own "Laurie Story" in which she brought joy and happiness to them in her own little way. She had her own unique phrases that many people loved to quote such as, "My friendship, so nice, so coute, sweet friend, a be have fun, cool huh, I bet I should, in the better, like you so much". She LOVED Little House on the Prairie ("in the puddle"). She loved it so much she wanted to be called Beth. Her life long dream was realized this summer when she was able to visit the Ingalls Homestead and the school in South Dakota. She is survived by her loving mother and dearest friend, Rosemary Ellison; her siblings, Jennifer Breinholt (Paul), Nathan Ellison (Laura), Nikki Ambler (Alif), Nancy Martin (Michael) and Benjamin Ellison; her grandmother, Vivian Ellison; her nieces and nephews, Mikayla, Parker, Zachary, London, Justin and Brock; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her father Roger Ellison, her 'cuz' Lisa, and grandparents George Y. and Carol K. Jarvis and Melvin B. Ellison. She will be sorely missed by her best friend Janice and the fellow members of The Graduates: Darla, Kendra, Sherene, Kristy, Carol, Juli, and Donna; as well as her sweet friend Erin Pickens. Laurie was a treasure to the family, an example, a choice spirit, a companion, and a vital part of who we all are today. She was a shining example of how to see through the eyes of our Father in Heaven and our Savior to the true value of His sons and daughters. She is our little Ray, our Sunshine and our Princess. When life wasn't much fun, we could always count on her to make us laugh at the world and ourselves. We will miss her phone calls with requests for glue, tape, and paper as well as the trips to Chevron, to movies, and to lunch. She was the best nurse if ever you were sick. She is the sweetest, kindest, most Christ-like person we have ever known and there is a hole in our heart that aches deeply. However, we know that if we turn to the Lord, He will fill that hole with His love. Funeral Services will be held Wed. November 14, 2007 at 12 noon at the Willow Creek 3rd Ward LDS Chapel, 2400 E. Alta Canyon Dr. in Sandy, UT. A viewing will be held Tuesday, November 13th, from 6:30-8:30 p.m., and Wednesday from 10:30-11:45 a.m. at the same location. Funeral services by SereniCare. Interment, Lehi City Cemetery. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Intermountain Medical Center for their extra special care of our extra special girl. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family at [email protected]. Laurie is the best sister in the whole wide country! 1, 2, 3, WE LOVE LAURIE!!

Ellison family,
I was sad to hear of Lauries passing, my thoughts and prayers are with your family. I can't help but smile when I think of Laurie. I will always remember her standing in the driveway swinging her shovel and waving at everyone who passed by. She always tried to protect Nancy and I from Nikki and her pranks. There were many times she rescued us from the bathroom after Nikki locked us in. Oh the memories, she will be missed!

Dear Ellisons!

Laurie made me laugh so much, and touched my life in a more profound way than I knew until now. Care and I have reminisced with smiles on all of the great times with Ray, like when I took her on a double date on the Alpine slide (she kicked my behind getting to the bottom!), the constant requests to go to the "Village," and her putting the rug in the washing machine while watching 'Freaky Friday.' Really, the happy memories are endless. Thank you for sharing her with me for a season, and three cheers for Laurie! Hooray! Hooray! Hooray!

Love to you all,

What words can we write about our "Cuz". She has always been the highlight of every family event. We knew that we always had a special smile in store if Laurie was coming. I will miss so many things about her, but most of all her way she said "Hi Cuz." All of us cousins have had that greeting for years and I cant believe we wont hear it from her. But I can hold onto the special memories. I cant remember my life without her. Thank you for letting us have her in our lives for as long as we did. We have all been blessed and have learned so much from her. I love all of you very much and I know this is hard, but we all know of the bigger plan. She is now with Uncle Roger "Father", Lisa, and G and G Jarvis, and Grandpa Ellison. Wish we could have seen that reunion.

Rosie and family, You know what a treasure she was in your family, but what made it all so special was that you shared that treasure with all of us who lived around you. Now she is your eternal daughter watching over all of you and pulling pranks from above! Love The Walker Family

DearRosie and family,
We are so sad to hear of Lauries passing. What a shock. She is with her Dear Dad and Grandparents whom I know you miss so much. Know that we love you and are praying and thinking of you. I could not help but imagine the reunion there in Heaven. She will be a huge ray of sunshine there for you always.
