I had the great privilege of serving, and working closely, with Pres. Perschon while a missionary in the Munich, Germany Mission. He was a brand new mission president and I worked daily with him as one of his assistants. I witnessed close up the great love he had for the Gospel and for people. He bore testimony to me often of his absolute knowledge of its truthfulness and his commitment to serve in whatever way the Lord asked. He treated Sister Perschon with the greatest of kindness and tenderness and was a great example in that regard of a loving husband. He had a great sense of humor and a love of life. He was an extremely hard worker. I learned great life and Gospel lessons from him -- and a bit of him, I believe and hope, remains in me.

I was a missionary under President Perschon in Munich. Right before I moved back east in March of 1990, I ran into him and his wife on Main Street in Salt Lake City. We had a short chat, and I was reminded of his fun-loving nature and sense of humor.

My mother Marcella and dad Randy had many tails and experiences they shared about the fun they had in your dad's company. I am sorry to hear of the passing of President Perschon. My thoughts and prayers are with the family of this great man. My first contact with the Perschon family was back in 1980 when Charles became my Mission President. A few years later, his son, Robert, became my Bishop at a student ward at the University of Utah. Just last year, my niece married Brent Perschon, a nephew. My life has been blessed by the wonderful influence of this family, and especially, Charles Perschon.

I'm another of the Germany Munich missionaries, and I'm very sorry to hear of the passing of President Perschon.
I was pleased to have seen him at the ZCMI Center mall a few years ago and to have spent a few moments chatting again with him. That visit brought back many good memories!
We're fortunate to have the understanding of the restored gospel to give us the comfort needed at times like these. I have no doubt that the Lord's blessings of love and comfort are with Sister Perschon and all her family. I send my best wishes too.
