Jonathan Paine Obituary

Jonathan Gerrit Peter Paine 1973 ~ 2009 Jonathan Gerrit Peter Paine passed away January 6, 2009 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Jon was born June 4, 1973 to J. Peter and Pamela Paine in Pittsburgh, PA, the youngest of five children. He grew up in Pittsburgh and San Jose, CA. He served an honorable mission in the Illinois Peoria Mission, attended UVU, earning a degree in Human Behavior, and worked for Neways International, Inc. in Salem, UT. Jon took the love of his life, Dawn Louise Andrus, to the Salt Lake City Temple where they were sealed for time and all eternity on September 20, 2008. Jon had a joyful, humorous, exuberant spirit and loved all kinds of music, fast cars, and good food. He enjoyed playing games with his family and watching his favorite sports teams, but most of all, spending time with his Dawnie-girl. Jon is survived by his bride Dawn, his mother, Pamela Paine, two brothers, David, Jeffrey (Carolyn) and a sister, Kellene Vella (Shon). He was a beloved uncle to six nephews and three nieces, Ethan, Erica, Benjamin, Jared, Rebekah and Rachel Paine, Tyrie, Kelson and Brady Vella. He is also survived by his father and mother-in-law, Douglas D. and Audrey Andrus. He was preceded in death by his father and older brother, Joel. Theirs was a joyous reunion. The family would like to thank the valiant staff of the University of Utah Medical Center who worked so heroically in his behalf the final hours of his mortal sojourn. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the Edgemont 8th Ward Chapel, 3050 Mojave Lane, Provo, UT. A viewing will be held on Friday evening from 6-8, at Berg Mortuary, 185 East Center, Provo, UT and at the church on Saturday from 11-12:30 prior to the funeral. Interment will be at the Provo City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to [email protected] In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated at UCCU in Jonathan Paine's name.

My prayers and love is with you all. I was a roommate of Dawn's and I had the wonderful blessing of attending the sealing of Dawn and Jon. I know that Dawn loves him very much and I could tell how much he loved her and especially how much he loved his Mom and siblings and nieces and nephews. I hope that you are feeling the peace that Heavenly Father sends through the Spirit. Much love.

I had the great opportunity to serve in the same district with Jon in the Illinois Peoria Mission. He was always fun to be around with a friendly smile and laugh. I am so sorry to hear about his passing and send the love of several alumni missionaries who shared great memories with him too. He was truly our mission brother. Our love and prayers are with you.

Jon was a good buddy at work. We spent many hours testing and finalizing his 'baby' the CCR. We're going to miss Jon and his jovial ways.
