Elaine and family,
We are so sorry to learn that you have lost Max. My mom passed away in September. You and Max were very special friends to my mom and dad, Dave and Donna Prudence. They loved to have you come to visit when we lived on Eastwood Lane. My dad loved Max. He was one of his dearest friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. I am so thankful for the gospel and the understanding that it provides for us. We love you. We will contact you soon.

Lorraine,
I was deeply saddened about your father's passing. I was also sorry to see that you also lost a child years ago. You see I also lost my mother and a sister, so my heart really does understand the pain and suffering you are feeling.
You may not even remember me from our childhood days, but I often think about you and wonder how you are doing.
My condolences to your family for the loss of a great man.
Sincerely,
Denise (Horton) Luker

Dear Elaine,
Our daughter is visiting in Utah and called us last night to say that she had seen a story on the news about Max's passing. We are so sorry to hear about your loss. He was such a kind and great friend to my dad, and I know that my mother regarded you as one of her dearest friends. I know that this is a difficult time for you, but I'm sure that Max fulfilled the mission he was sent on earth to accomplish. He leaves a great legacy to his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and all of his friends. May you know of our love and concern for you.

If I knew the magic words that could comfort you at a time like this, I would write them today. But I know how little anything I can say can be of real help at a time like this. Max was so much a part of your life and he was a small part of mine. I feel for you in your sorrow and extend my sincere sympathy. Mac and Judy

Dear Elaine,
We were so saddened to read of Max's death. He was such a fine man and we remember his strong testimony of the gospel. It has been nine years now, since we left Salt Lake for Ivins, UT; but we still remember the wonderful friends we had in the East Millcreek 2nd Ward and you and Max were two of the great friends we count as blessings in our lives. May our Heavenly Father comfort you at this time of sorrow. We send you our love and prayers.

Dear Yospe Family,
It was an honor and a privilege to know and to serve with Max on the SLC PD. He was always kind and willing to listen or help you in any way he could. Being the Police Chaplin I asked Max to conduct and coordinate the funeral for my father in 1981, although not knowing me that well at that time, he still gladly agreed making the service wonderful and memorable. Max also provided me at the service with a book of comforting stories/thoughts which I cherish and use often reminding me of what a wonderful person Max is. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.

Dear sweet Max, a beacon of love and dedication and a family to be admired and respected. I know there is a loss in your hearts today, but the direction and devotion he taught, will overcome and set aside the hurt, in an overwhelming show of love and gratitude from the thousands of lives he touched. My years on the department were made more wholesome and giving thru his guidance and warm, genuine love of his job and fellow officers. The world is a little less bright for now, but I know all his teachings will shine brightly again soon....Thank you Yospe family, for sharing a giant among leaders, for he certainly lit the way for many of us to follow.
