M. Pitts Obituary

M. Jane 'Jayne' Pitts lived in Leominster for five decades; 73 LEOMINSTER M. Jane "Jayne" (Volante) Pitts, 73 years old, of Leominster, Wednesday, July 23, 2008, surrounded by her family, at her beloved summer residence at Spec Pond in Lancaster, after a long bout with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 53 years Richard F. Pitts; son, Frederick A. Pitts and his wife, Robin of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; daughters, Elizabeth A. Gabis and her husband, Joseph of Lunenburg, and Carole M. Kelly and her husband, Daniel of Leominster; grandchildren, Ronnica, Raia, Catherine, Sandra, and Timothy; and great-grandson, Michael. She is also survived by her brothers, William Volante of Merrimack, NH, and John Volante of Manchester, CT; and many nieces and nephews. Jayne was born August 15, 1934 in Boston, daughter of Antonio "Cappy" and Lena (Volante) Volante, and had lived in Leominster for the past 50 years. She graduated from Ayer High School and Becker Jr. College in Worcester. In later years, she was employed as a Home Health Care Worker for the elderly of Lancaster. She had attended St. Leo's Church in Leominster, and enjoyed taking care of her family. PITTS A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 26, from the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster with a mass at 10 a.m. in St. Leo's Church, 128 Main Street, Leominster. Burial will be in St. Leo's Cemetery, Leominster. Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 25, from 5-8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Diversified Home Services-Hospice Program, 25 Tucker Drive, Leominster, MA 01453. www.richardsonfuneralhome.net
