Mary E. Evans lived in Fitchburg area for many years; 76 FITCHBURG Mary Elizabeth (Bowlen) Evans, 76 was stricken ill and died in her home, on Wednesday, August 27th. Mary was born August 18, 1932 in Quincy, daughter of John and Elizabeth (Leightonen) Bowlen and had lived many years in the Fitchburg area. She was a graduate of Quincy High School. Mary's husband Fredrick died in 1998. She leaves three sons, Larry Evans of Fitchburg, Gary Evans of Sebastian, Florida, and Mark Evans of Florida; one daughter, Donna Lowe of Fairfield, Maine; one brother, John Bowlen Jr. of Quincy; 9 grandchildren; Tracy Blanchard, Larry Evans Jr., William Evans, Brian Evans, Leah Evans, Courtney Evans, Matthew Evans, and Nathan and Todd Lowe; 6 great-grandchildren, Samantha Boucher, Dakota Miner, Jordan Blanchard, Austin Evans, Alicia Evans and Craig Evans. She was predeceased by two brothers, Edward and Albert, and one sister, Barbara Bowlen. EVANS A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 3rd at 11:00 a.m. in West Cemetery, Ashby. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mary E. Evans Memorial Fund, c/o Donna Lowe, 7 Cottage St., Fairfield, Maine 04937. Aubuchon-Moorcroft Funeral Home, Fitchburg is assisting the family with arrangements.
