Eleanor J. Griggs

Eleanor J. Griggs of Leominster; 90 Leominster Eleanor J. Griggs, 90 years old, of Leominster, died Monday, October 6, 2008 in HealthAlliance-Leominster Hospital. Ms. Griggs was born in Fitchburg on August 29, 1918, daughter of Edwin H. and Marion (Bray) Griggs and had lived in Leominster since 1949. She graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1936 and had worked at Fitchburg Gas and Electric Co. for 43 years. She was an active member of the Congregational Church of Christ in North Leominster and was past president of the church's Crystalite Club. She is survived by her sister Dorothy L. Griggs, with whom she lived, a nephew Edwin Griggs and his wife Lea Griggs of Vineyard Haven, two nieces Sandra Pratt and her husband Steve Pratt of Burlington, CT and Kathryn Cote and her husband Mark Cote of Rocky Hill, CT, a stepsister-in-law Mildred King of Ashburnham, several grand and great grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Vernon M. Griggs and her stepbrother Richard King. GRIGGS A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10, 2008 at 11 am in the Congregational Church of Christ, 583 Main Street, Leominster. A graveside service will be held prior to the church service at 10 am in Forest Hill Cemetery, Fitchburg. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2008 from 5-7 pm in the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster.
