Everett J. Rines
1917-2008
LEOMINSTER Everett J. Rines, 91, of Cary, NC, died Thursday, October 9, 2008.
Born April 18, 1917, the eldest son of James P. and Evelyn E. (Spaulding) Rines. He was a resident of North Leominster for more than 50 years.
Mr. Rines retired in 1982 from the
former Sanborn Machine & Die, Co. in Leominster, and was previously
employed as a bus driver for the F&L Street Railway.
He is survived by six children and their spouses, Everett J. Rines, Jr. and his wife, Yvonne of Belmont, NH, Ferne I. Kossakoski and her husband, Richard of Keene, NH, Evelyn V. LaRoche and her husband, Francis of Palm Bay, FL, Linda L. Adams and her husband, Bruce of Keene, NH, Leighford C. Rines and his wife, Lucille of New Ipswich, NH, John P. Rines and his wife, Kim of Cary, NC; five brothers, Manning O. Rines of Fitchburg, Paul W. Rines of Hartford, ME, Lawrence S. Rines of Scituate, David C. Rines of Shirley, and Wayne A. Rines of Hubbardston; five sisters, Eudora M. Rising of Sebring, FL, Virginia J. Welch and Doris E. Martin of Townsend, Joyce M. Wanner of Williamsburg, VA, and Gwendolyn J. Carter of Sterling; three step-children, Daniel J. MacDonald of Chester, NH, Sandra A. Dululio and her husband, William of Templeton, Kathleen M. MacDonald and her husband, Merritt Harrison of Cambridge; 21 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was married to Fern W. (Alden) Rines from 1939 until 1948, to Josephine M. (Shea) Rines from 1950 until her death on August 10, 1986, and to Helen C. (Uzialko) MacDonald Rines from 1989 until her death on May 9, 2007. He was predeceased by his brother, James P. Rines, Jr. on September 28, 2005, his grandson, Charles W. Dignan, Jr. on January 19, 2008 and his great-grandson, Kristopher S. Fox on August 25, 2002.
RINES The funeral will be held Thursday, October 16, 2008, from the Smith-Mallahy-Masciarelli
Funeral Home, 243 Water St., Fitchburg, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 1400 Main St., Leominster. Immediately
following, Mr. Rines will be laid to rest next to his wife, Josephine, at St. Bernard's Cemetery, Fitchburg.
