Donald A. Gravelle

Donald A. Gravelle Fitchburg Paper co. retiree, Navy vet; 75 FITCHBURG Donald A. Gravelle, 75, formerly of Fitchburg, died October 18, at the Emerson Hospital in Concord. Mr. Gravelle was born in Fitchburg, December 24, 1932, a son of Ernest and Marianne (Nadeau) Gravelle, and had resided in Fitchburg and Townsend and most recently in Concord. Mr. Gravelle was the husband of the late Lillian P. (Richard) Gravelle who died in February 1999. Mr. Gravelle is survived by one son, Peter J. Gravelle of Townsend; two daughters, Christina M. Gravelle of New York, and Denise C. Gravelle of Lexington. Mr. Gravelle was the brother of the late Gaetane (Morin) Doe, and Ernest Gravelle Jr. Mr. Gravelle had been employed at Fitchburg Paper for 45 years retiring in 1998, as a papermaker. Mr. Gravelle served his country in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Gravelle was a communicant of the Madonna of the Holy Rosary Church in Fitchburg. Mr. Gravelle was a member of the American Legion Post 429 in Cleghorn section of Fitchburg. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, and enjoyed ballroom dancing, and gardening. GRAVELLE A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 21 at the Madonna of the Holy Rosary Church, 118 Theresa St., Fitchburg.
