Vincent Anderson Obituary

Vincent A. Anderson Fitchburg, Foster Grant retiree, WWII vet; 90 FITCHBURG Vincent Albert Anderson, 90, of Fitchburg, died Saturday, October 18, 2008, at the Keystone Center in Leominster, after an illness. He is the husband of the late Virginia (Andreucci) Anderson who died May 3, 2000. Vincent leaves one son, Dennis J. Anderson and his wife, Betty, of Leominster; and one daughter, Patricia A. (Anderson) Dwyer and her husband, Donald, of Fitchburg; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Helen Maki of Fitchburg. He was born in Leominster, on Aug. 25, 1918, a son of the late Albert N. and Eunice B. (Johnson) Anderson. Vincent served in the U.S. Army during W.W.II as a Sergeant in the 1848th Service Command Unit in the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaigns of war. He was a sample maker for Foster Grant, and was a member of the Foster Grant 25 year club. Vincent was also a member of the Retired Men's Club, the Booster Club, the Friendship Club, the Leominster American Legion, and St. Anthony di Padua Church. ANDERSON The Funeral will be held from the Smith-Mallahy-Masciarelli Funeral Home, (www.masciarellifamilyfuneralhomes.net), 243 Water St., Fitchburg, MA on Wednesday, with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Anthony di Padua Church, 84 Salem St., Fitchburg, MA 01420. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the St. Bernard's Cemetery, Fitchburg, MA. Calling Hours will be in the Funeral Home on Tuesday, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the St. Anthony di Padua Church Renovation Fund, 84 Salem St., Fitchburg, MA 01420, or the American Cancer Society, 350 Plantation St., Worcester, MA 01604 or may be left at the Funeral Home.

Tom & Patty,
It seems like forever ago that he was a part of my life, but he was a wonderful man and it is a great loss to anyone who knew him. If you need anything, or just to talk, you know how to get ahold of me. God Bless

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during a difficult time. He was a wonderful and gracious and giving man that will be hard to forget!
