Mary C. Hocter

Mary C. Hocter of Middleton; 81 Middleton Mary C. (Doherty) Hocter, 81, of Middleton died Sunday October 19, 2008. She was the wife of the late John J. Hocter Jr. Mary was a graduate of St. Mary's in Lynn; class of 1945. She worked for many years at the Masconomet Regional High School and was affectionately known as "Sarge". Mary was very active with the town of Middleton. She belonged to the Recreation, Democratic, Masconomet Scholarship and the Memorial Day Committees. Also, assisting with the Swim Program and serving as an Election Warden. Mary was active with the VNA of the North Shore and the Council on Aging. Mrs. Hocter was an active communicant of St. Agnes parish. She was a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary for 57 years. Surviving her are two sons, Francis and his wife Jean Hocter of Fitchburg and Joseph and Faith Hocter of Middleton. Also three grandchildren, Justin, Jeremy and Joseph, two great-grandchildren, Allyson and Logan. She was the sister of Joseph of Florida and Owen Doherty and family of Lynn. HOCTER Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11am in St. Agnes Church, Middleton. Visitation Tuesday (today) from 4-7 pm in the Mackey Funeral Home, 22 Conant St, Danvers.
