Edward C. 'Zeke' Shields Sr. of Fitchburg, Clinton co. retiree; 68 FITCHBURG Edward C. "Zeke" Shields Sr., 68, of Fitchburg, died Monday, October 20, in his home, after an illness. He was born May 29, 1940, in Manhattan, New York, son of the late Edward and Irma (Tice) Shields. Mr. Shields worked for Borden Chemical for 18 years following that, he worked at Wheatabix in Clinton for 22 years. He was a talented artist and enjoyed Ham Radio, fishing, spending time in Maine, and the Southgate Restaurant. He loved his dogs. He leaves his wife of 33 years, Linda (Glenn) Shields; two sons, Edward Shields, Jr. and his fiancée, Karen Thomas, and Matthew Weeks, all of Fitchburg; one daughter, Marissa Gulliver and her husband, Dennis of Leominster; four grandchildren, Nicholas, Jeffrey and Victoria Gulliver, and Tabia Weeks; one sister, Lorraine Calmonaco and her husband, Mike of Long Island, NY; one nephew, Michael Calmonaco of France; and one niece, Laura Fanzillie of Norwalk, CT. SHIELDS The funeral will be held Saturday, October 25, at 10:00 A.M. in Leominster Assembly of God Church, 834 Main St., Leominster. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Friday, October 24, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Diversified Home Services Hospice Program, 25 Tucker Drive, Leominster, MA 01453.
