Gertrude Lemay Obituary

Gertrude M. Lemay lifelong Fitchburg resident; 78 Fitchburg Gertrude M. (Roberge) Lemay, 78, of Fitchburg, died Monday afternoon in Keystone Nursing Center, Leominster, after an illness. She was born on December 13,1929 in Fitchburg, the daughter of George and Rose (Lamierand) Roberge and lived in Fitchburg all of her life. Gertrude worked as a spinner for 30 years at the former Fitchburg Yarn and then worked in the housekeeping dept at Burbank Hospital for seven years. She retired several years ago. She was an active life member for the D.A.V. chapter 30 in Fitchburg. She also was a member of the Booster Club in Fitchburg and the Senior Center. She was also a member of St. Camillus De Lellis Church in Fitchburg. She loved pets of all types and enjoyed playing bingo in the area. She is survived by her nephew and niece, Paul and Lorraine Caouette of Westminster, who was also her caregivers for the last four years. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years J. Leo Lemay who died in 2007, and two sisters, Dorothy Quinlan of Tallahasse, Florida and Jeannette Caouette of Fitchburg. LEMAY The funeral will be held on Saturday November 1, 2008 with a Mass at 10am in St. Camillus De Lellis Church, 333 Mechanic St., Fitchburg. Inurnment will follow in St. Bernard's Cemetery. There are no Calling hours. The Lavery Chartrand & Alario Funeral Home, 99 Summer St., Fitchburg, Ma. is directing the arrangements.
