Billie Thomas Obituary

Billie Lee Thomas of Marshall, formerly of Fitchburg; 74 Marshall, VA Billie Lee Thomas, 74, of Marshall, died on Monday, October 27, 2008 at Fauquier Hospital. Born in Auto, West Virginia on May, 28, 1934, the son of Forest Edward Thomas and Mabel Thomas. Mr. Thomas served in the U.S. Army for 14 years during the Korean and Vietnam eras. He lived in Fitchburg for over 43 years and worked for the City of Fitchburg in maintenance, where he was a welder. Mr. Thomas also worked in the construction industry as a heavy equipment operator and welder. Additionally, he was a member of the Ruritan Club in Marshall. His wife, Janet Thomas predeceased him. He is survived by a daughter, Dora Battagalo of Angola, NY, a niece, Donna Richards and her husband John, of Marshall with whom he made his home for many years. Also surviving are a sister, Hazel Stigbey, both of Frankfort, WV, sister, Margaret Britt and her husband Albert of Ronceverte, WV, a brother-in-law, Herbert Progin of Marshall and several nieces and nephews Additional survivors include two granddaughters, and a great niece, Tamara Richards, and a great grandson. THOMAS Services are private.
