George Wonkka Obituary

George R. Wonkka Sr.; 74 Died Monday, October 27, in his home in Las Vegas, NV, after a brief illness. He was born on Aug, 29, 1934, in Fitchburg, the son of Claire (Langlois) and George Wonkka. He was a longtime resident of Fitchburg, and was employed for many years by the city of Fitchburg before retiring to Las Vegas. Mr. Wonkka was the husband of the late Nancy (Ricker) Wonkka who died in 1991. He leaves behind 7 children, George Wonkka Jr. who died in 2004, Karen Wonkka Page of Fitchburg, Lisa Ogilvie of Westfield, MA, William Wonkka of Templeton, MA, John Wonkka of Fitchburg, Sharon Fraticelli of Leominster, MA, and Marie Decaria of Fitchburg. He also leaves behind two sisters, Claire Jacques of Ashburnham, MA, and Anita Aura of Bradenton, FL; and nine grandchildren. Burial will be private at the family's request.
