Viola Marchetti Obituary

Viola (Perla) Marchetti Life Long resident of Lincoln Terrace LEOMINSTER Viola (Perla) Marchetti, 96, a life long resident of Lincoln Terrace in Leominster, died Friday, November 14, 2008, at the home of her daughter in Leominster. She was born November 6, 1912, the daughter of Vincenzo and Ottavia (Piccolomini) Perla. Mrs. Marchetti had worked at Sportsman's Plastics, Cluett Peabody, and Foster Grant. She was a member of St. Anna Parish, the St. Anna Society, and the Saladini Club. Viola enjoyed making homemade pasta for her family and friends. She is survived by two sons, Benedetto "Benny" Marchetti and his wife, Ann, and Robert Marchetti and his wife, Mary; two daughters, Virginia Valeri and her husband, Peter, Shirley Smith and her husband, Paul; a sister, Catherine Mann, all of Leominster; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Enrico J. "Digger" Marchetti, who died April 22, 1988, her brothers, Anio Perla, Settimo Perla, Amedio "Starchy" Perla, her sisters, Bernadette Bracani, Mary Martino, and Jennie Tresaloni, and a grandson, John Marchetti. MARCHETTI The Funeral will be held on Monday, November 17, 2008 from Wright-Roy Funeral Home, 109 West St., Leominster, MA with a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anna Church, 199 Lancaster St., Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Leo's Cemetery, Leominster. Calling hours were held Sunday, November 16, from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Anna Parish Fund, 199 Lancaster St., Leominster, MA 01453. Vi was one of those people who made everyone smile, always had an open door, and made the best pizzelle's i ever tried.
I have her picture carved into memory, and i will never forget the beautiful woman she was.
