Joseph Lake Obituary

Joseph F. Lake of Leominster, active with the masons; 98 LEOMINSTER Joseph F. Lake, 98 years old, of Leominster, died Friday, November 21, 2008 in HealthAlliance-Leominster Hospital. He is survived by his daughter, Dorothy C. Koski and her husband, Charles E. Koski of Leominster. His wife Myrtle M. (Plumadore) Lake died in 1986. He was also predeceased by 8 brothers and sisters. Mr. Lake was born November 14, 1910 in Ballston Spa, NY, son of Joseph F. and Mary (Desrosier) Lake, Sr. and had lived in Leominster since 1942. He had been a mechanical engineer at General Electric Co. in Fitchburg from 1942 until his retirement in 1975. He was a member of Leominster United Methodist Church. He was a member and Past Master of Wilder Lodge of Masons in Leominster, Past District Deputy of Fitchburg 13th Masonic District and Past High Priest of Leominster Royal Arch Chapter. He was a member of Jessamine Chapter #75 Order of Eastern Star in Gardner, Ida McKinley Chapter #86 Order of Eastern Star in Ayer and was Past Patron of the former Temple Chapter #45 Order of Eastern Star in Leominster. He was a Past Grand of the Leominster Lodge of Odd Fellows #86, Past Grand Herald of Grand Lodge of Odd Fellows and a member of Prosperity Rebekah Lodge #68 in Leominster. He was a former Scoutmaster for 2 Boy Scouts Troops in Schenectady, New York, and was involved in the Junior Achievement Program in Fitchburg. LAKE A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at 11 am in the Leominster United Methodist Church, 77 Hall St., Leominster. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster. Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 24, 2008 from 5-8 pm in the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral home, 106 West St., Leominster. A Rebekah/Odd Fellows Service will be held on Monday at 6:30 pm, an Order of Eastern Star Service will be held at 7:00 pm and a Masonic Service will be held at 7:30 pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leominster United Methodist Church, 77 Hall St., Leominster, MA 01453. www.richardsonfuneralhome.net
