Donald Bodo Obituary

Donald S. Bodo formerly of Fitchburg, Army vet, WWII; 83 LEOMINSTER Donald S. Bodo, 83, of Leominster, formerly of Fitchburg, died Sunday, November 30, 2008, in UMass Memorial Medical Center. He was born June 19, 1925, in Fitchburg, son of the late William and Helen (McCauliff) Bodo. He graduated from Saint Bernard's Central Catholic High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Bodo worked for James River which then became Weyerhauser, for over 40 years before his retirement. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Red Sox and Patriots. He leaves his wife of 58 years, Therese "Terry" (Fregeau) Bodo; two sons, Daniel Bodo and his wife, Suzanne of Oregon, and William R. Bodo of Gardner; his nieces, Susan Koeck of Fitchburg, and Sabrina DeCarolis of Pittsburg, PA. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Bodo, and his sister, Grace DeCarolis. BODO The Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, December 9, at 10:00 A.M. in Our Lady of the Lake Church, 1400 Main St., Leominster. Burial with military honors, will follow in Saint Bernard's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg is directing arrangements.
