Barry Degroseilliers Obituary

WESTBOROUGH -- Barry F. Desgroseilliers, also known as Barry F. Dennis, 66, died suddenly on Monday Oct. 22, while recuperating from surgery.

He was born in Leominster, and was raised in Fitchburg. He was the son of the late Albert and Elizabeth (Anderson) Desgroseilliers. Barry was a 1959 graduate of St. Bernard’s Central Catholic High School in Fitchburg, and earned his degree in funeral service at New England Institute of Embalming in Boston. He worked in the Boston area for the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home for 20 years, and, later, moved to Westborough in 1982 and became owner and operator of the Britton-Summers Funeral Home until the present time. He was a dedicated funeral director and served many families with compassion and care.

Barry loved his daughters and grandchildren dearly. He enjoyed boating, traveling, fishing, dining out, gardening, his Boxer dogs, fast cars and, especially, his 350Z.

He leaves his wife, Maryann (Ramondelli) Desgroseilliers; two daughters, Lisa A. and her husband, Eric Goselin, of Holden and Jill S. and her husband, Peter Sarro, of Millbury; a brother, Ronald Desgroseilliers of Pittsfield; four grandchildren, Matthew, Max, Benjamin and Amanda; and several nieces and nephews.

DESGROSEILLIERS -- His funeral will be held on Friday, Oct. 26, from the Britton-Summers Funeral Home, 4 Church St., Westborough, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Luke’s the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., in Westborough. Burial will be in St. Luke’s Cemetery. Calling hours are 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Westborough Food Pantry, P.O. Box 502, Westborough, MA 01581, or to the Worcester Animal League, 139 Holden St., Worcester, MA 01606.
