Carl Walters Obituary

SHIRLEY -- Carl T. Walters, 64, of Front Street, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Oct. 13, at his home.

Mr. Walters was born in Ayer on March 27, 1943, a son of Patricia E. (Corley) Walters and the late Carl T. Walters, and resided much of his life in Shirley. He also resided a number of years in Worcester and West Boylston.

Mr. Walters worked as a maintenance worker for several companies in the area. Many years ago, he worked at the Hollingsworth & Vose Company in West Groton.

During the Vietnam War, Mr. Walters served his country in the United States Army Reserves. He was a member of the Shirley American Legion Post and was an antique car enthusiast

Aside from his mother of Shirley, he is survived by a daughter, Melissa A. Walters of Fitchburg; a sister and brother-in-law, Annabelle and Jack Byrne of Lunenburg; a longtime companion, Katherine Pauliukonis of West Boylston and her family; two nephews, Jack Byrne, Mike Byrne and his wife, Susan, and a grandnephew; Nathan Byrne.

WALTERS -- A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Shirley Village Cemetery, Harvard Road, Shirley. The T.J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Road, Ayer, is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Jeremiah’s Inn, 1059 Main St., P.O. Box 30035, Worcester, MA 01603.
