Helen was born in New York City on Oct. 12, 1929, and moved to Fitchburg at a very young age. She graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1948. She was a homemaker, who was devoted to her family.
Helen leaves her sons, Herbert J. Dufort Jr., Donald M. Dufort, Thomas R. Dufort, all of Fitchburg, and David A. Dufort and his wife, Olivera, of Lawrence, with whom she was living. She also leaves her daughter, Elaine Bartok and her husband, William, of Twinsburg, Ohio; and six grandchildren. Her husband of 55 years, Herbert J. Dufort Sr., died on Oct. 3, 2006.
DUFORT -- A funeral service will be held on Monday, Dec. 10, at 11 a.m. in the Bosk Funeral Home, 85 Blossom St., with a visitation time from 10-11 a.m. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.
