Vieno Talix

FITCHBURG -- Vieno J. (Myllykangas) Talix, 91, of 99 Marshall Road, died on Sunday, Dec. 9.

Mrs. Talix was born in Fitchburg on Oct. 11, 1916, a daughter of Jacob and Hannah (Tokoi) Myllykangas, and was a lifelong Fitchburg resident.

During the 1960s, Mrs. Talix worked as a manager at the Salvation Army Store in Fitchburg. She had attended the Assembly of God Church in Fitchburg, and had been active in several Salvation Army efforts.

She was the wife of Bernard Talix, who died in 1963. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, David J. and June Talix of Fitchburg, Lauri B. and Sharon Talix of Las Vegas, Nev.; a daughter, Kathleen V. Tornikoski, with whom she resided in Fitchburg; a sister, Lillian Ferreira of Tewksbury; four grandchildren, Jeremy Talix, Lt. Mika Tornikoski USN, Aliisa Tornikoski and Hope Barrow. She also leaves one great-grandchild, Jack Barrow. She was the sister of the late Lauri Myllykangas, Waino Myllykangas, Wilho Myllykangas, Tauno Myllykangas, Vera W. Perry and Lempi Lipasti.

TALIX -- Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at the Louis M. Isabelle Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon St., Fitchburg. Please see isabellefuneral.com for additional information. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery, Fitchburg. There are no calling hours.
