Thomas Wesley Hanson Obituary
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. David Hanson and the Rev. Tom Jones will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Hanson was born on Aug. 28, 1934, to the late Robert Cole and Annie Lou Hanson. He retired from the U.S. Army after 23 years of service as lieutenant colonel. He was a member of Gainesville First United Methodist Church.
Mr. Hanson is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Lou Hanson of Gainesville; daughter, Priscilla Ann Hennessey of St. Simons Island; son and daughter-in-law, Butch and Nancy Moore of Dahlonega; son, Van Moore of Dahlonega; brother and sister-in-law, the Rev. Dave and Kay Hanson of St. Simons Island; sister and brother-in-law, Anita and Morris Williams of Highlands, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren who will miss him dearly.
Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Road, Gainesville, GA 30504 is in charge of arrangements.

I only knew Tom for a few short years while we volunteered on the Tax-Aide program. He was a real gentleman whom I was proud to claim as my friend. He will certainly be missed and I pray that God will comfort the Hanson family.
