I cannot pretend that I knew Carol long or well. I did not have that blessing in my life. However, I had two distinctive and profound "still point" moments around Virginia's Funeral. When I heard the song that Carol wanted played I felt she shared a compassion with Virginia that none of us could every share - a compassion, passionate knowing in the meaning of facing dying and death. Again, when visited with Carol, I was deeply struck by her determination, fortitude and lovely loving that made it possible for her to leave her own hospital bed to attend Virginia's funeral. She leave a tremendous legacy to honor for all her loved ones and those who even breifly touched her life and she ours. I am so sorry in your loss and hold you gentle in my heart with prayer.

We want to express how sorry we are for your loss and ours. Carol Lynn will be so very missed.
I know it's been many years but I have always had and will always have fond memories of the little girl who could never get enough of holding baby Matthew.
Matthew will miss his Aunt Carol so much and wish he could have known her better, and Jacob will never get the chance to meet his Great Aunt Carol who lived life like an angel and is now at home with them.
Rest in Peace Carole Lynn
Love always from Carol Elaine, Matthew and Jacob Smith

To Sal & Tara,
Words cannot convey how sad I was to hear of Carol's passing. I work at the County and was lucky to have become friends with Carol some 14 years ago. We talked about our families mostly, her love for you was obvious with every word she spoke. Even though the news broke my heart and I thought of what a great loss you and the family are experiencing, always remember she is with you in your heart forever. You are blessed to have had such a rare and wonderful person in you life!

We are heavy hearted by this great loss. Carol will always have a special place our hearts; it seems like just yesterday she was a little girl and before we knew it she grew up to be a beautiful lady. We lost track over the years but she was always in our hearts. God bless all of you and may you have comfort in knowing she is in heaven with our great Lord and Savior.

Carol briefly touched my life through a mutal friend. What I remember about her was her total selflessness and unbelievable strength. She would call into the office to speak with Leslyn and she would want to know how I was and if everything was going okay in MY life...what a gem she was. Very very rare. We can all take lessons from the way she lived her life. My repects to her husband Sal and their daughter Tara. May God hold you both in the palm of His hand.

Oh my Gosh- this is terrible news, Carol- She was something else right up to the end. For my birthday in February she sent me an e-mail card, she never forgot that my birthday was on groundhog’s day! I didn’t even know she was ill, I am so very sad at this news and can’t believe it.
I knew Carol from the time I moved into Cheyenne Hills, she always was a friend. I was the new kid in 8th grade having “ moved up” a grade when we came back from Europe, She never made any bones about it, just let me be who I was going to be. She was steady and kind and she had a wonderful heart. She was always there at home, a link for me when I thought of anytime in high school or if I was in Colorado Springs I always thought of her. She loved her life with Sal and her Daughter Tara. I remember attending the baby shower for Tara- I think she was so excited to have a child. There were other times we got together, but they became fewer over the years as life changes and we go our separate ways. When we organized the 20th reunion, Carol didn’t come; I talked to her many times in the year leading up to the event, but in the end didn’t get to see her. She knew my parents and always asked after them. I knew her family too.
I was in Colorado Springs just today- incredible new for me. I am not sure I will be able to attend her memorial services, I am just so very sad at her passing and bummed to arrive home tonight to this news.

Sal, Tara, Uncle Richard, RC, Gary, and all the family;
Carol will be truly missed by everyone who knew her. She was an amazing person who touched everyone's life for the better that she came in contact with. Carol would light up a room just walking into it. I will never forget her smile, her laugh, and the love she had for everyone she knew. I can't express how sorry I am at her passing, but take comfort in knowing she will live on in all of our hearts forever.

I will always remember my cousin "KARO" as one of the sweetest and kindest people I have ever known. I remember as a little girl, whenever we would visit, that Karo would brush my hair - she was always so patient and gentle.
I am deeply saddened by her passing, and offer my heartfelt condolences to Sal, Tara, and the entire family.
