Jim, Erin, MaryLeigh and Hope,
I was so saddened, and my heart goes out to the four of you, when I saw the story in todays' New York Times.
The friendship I had with Kathy, and then later also with you, Jim, after she came to work with me at Avco Corporation after graduating from Manhattanville, was a pleasure. Having a bright, engaging co-worker made the days much lighter.
And my family all enjoyed the get-togethers we had at your house at Christmas times during the years after Kathy left Avco to raise your family. Each Christmas season I think of her as I decorate my tree, since almost all of the individualized ornaments I have that are for my children, Kathy & Tom, are from Kathy, many hand-made by her.
Again, our prayers go with you all.

Dear Jim, Hope, Erin, and MaryLeigh,
We will always remember Kathy's voice, in laughter and song, sailing across the yard at the lake...and the warmth of basking in the reflected glow of her love and pride for all of you. We are praying for Kathy and your family.
With love, Elet, John, and Michael Callahan

Dear Family,
When I got word of the untimely death of Kathy my thoughts flashed back to the years that I knew her at North Mianus School. She was always there, ready to help and was a person that we all knew that we could count on whenever an extra hand was needed.
I think of you three girls, who along with your dad were the lights of her life. You girls always came to school, hair brushed, (usually a bow in it when you were little) and full of joy at the wonderful mother that you had.
Words cannot tell you how sorry that I am. Please keep all the wonderful memories that you have of her in your hearts and know that she was loved by many.
With my deepest sorrow.
Dr Sue Holloman
Former North Mianus School Principal.

Jim and Girls,
When I think of Kathy I think of one word "gracious". I've known her a long time and she always welcomed me to her home so kindly. She was an amazing mother and you can see that thru you girls. She was and always will be so proud of you. Her smile and warmth shines thru all of you.

Greetings Jim, Erin, Maryleigh, & Hope!!
Wow, I have know idea of the "right" thing to type here... I will write that I cannot help but smile when I think of Kathy... not in her death, but in her life!! You all know better than I do how she had that amazing ability to make virtually every person she came in contact with feel special and important... (or did she just do that for me and my husband??)...
We are proud to have "The Moose" pot in a prominent place in our Texas home... this was a gift from Kathy (and you all) nine years ago, and a great reminder of the last Krasniewicz' Christmas event we had the privilege to experience....
We'll think of all of you more each time we access the Moose...
Cheers to Kathy for living a good life!!
our love... linda & john sargent

I think of you and your family/friends every day as I drive by where you left this earth. I wish I could have saved you, but God had called you. You have inspired me to value life at it's fullest as a mother, as a nurse, as a daughter. I will never forget you even though we never met. God Bless all of you. We are praying for you here in Denver.

Dear Hope, Maryleigh, Erin and James,
No words can express the sorrow I feel for you and your family. Kathy will always be known to me as "Supermom" She did it all and was always there for me making costumes and helping me throughout all the years of teaching dance to you. Your beautiful mother wrote the most heartfelt letter I ever received as a teacher and still have it to this day. It it inspired me then and still does today. I love you all and so loved your mom and wife. "Supermom," I miss you...Love Always, Fran

Dear Mrs K.,
Thank you for being a part of my life. You inspired me to read every week at our meetings of the Y2C2, (You, of all people should know what that stands for.) In fact, I think that you inspired every single person to subscribe their minds to what is the greatest activity of all time with your encouragement and outright enthusiasm. Your mission that you fulfilled in every person you were acquainted with- Just Read! You and Mrs. Mac made those meetings a pleasure to be part of and I salute you for that. Your true love of literature should be an inspiration, as it has and still is to me, to everyone-all those avid readers and writers out there. We read sooooooooo many good and wonderful books- of all different varities- spookiness, romance, silliness, and uniqueness. You were like a hot air balloon who took all of us young readers up into the clouds- up and away with every page we turned, every chapter we finished. Each time we concluded our books, you would encourage us to speak out loud, show our feelings, good or bad, publicly, in our book talks. My favorite books? Penny from Heaven and the Audacious Escapades of the Somerset Sisters. You were Virginia Somerset, but instead of telling us of magnificent travels, you filled us in on fantastic books. You made me want to read all the books when you would bring up a new one from your slew. You and Mrs. Mac's deaths are kind of like what would happen in the stories we read- you are the parents of all the kids in your book clubs. We are the orphans, and even though you and Mrs. Mac are not here, we must embark on different travels, careers, and ideas. It is up to us now to continue your momentuous legacy. That is why, if I have your permission, I would like to write a book about you and Mrs. Mac. You are so unique that you would make fabulous characters ina story- of what content I have not decided. I want to be a writer when I grow up, and I will dedicate my books to you- you, who inspired me to read- the roots of which you can blossom even farther- to write. I love to write. Mrs. K., I love you. I miss you to an element I can not describe- but I know we must not fall down. We are all in the story of life- a story that will continue forever and has been continuing before. Your story has not ended- it has only begun. You planted yourself in everyone of us- so you, Mrs. K., live on. You, one of the gratest librarians of all time, will live on. Love, Lily M.

Mr. Krasniewicz, Hope and family,
I was deeply saddened to learn of Mrs. Krasniewicz’s untimely passing. Although I never had the pleasure of meeting her in person, I knew of her through her friendship with my mom and through my daily interactions with Hope in the office. My mother always spoke glowingly of Mrs. Krasniewicz and after getting to know Hope and seeing how well she was raised, it’s very easy to understand why. Although I didn’t know her personally, I felt like I knew her well. I am envious of her work in the community and only wish I had the good fortune of meeting her in person. My heartfelt condolences go out to the entire family. May she rest in peace.

Dear Aunt Kathy, my godmother. We are sad beyond words. We will miss you and love you always. I wanted to tell you something: On last Wednesday afternoon, Ian was home with me because it was a snow day. For some reason he put together the planet and stars puzzle you gave him for his birthday. Thinking back on this, it made me feel a little better, as if you were there with us.
