Barbara McCulloch Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 18, 2026.
Barbara P. McCulloch, 83, of Westerville, Ohio, peacefully passed away on March 15, 2026, following an extended illness.

Barbara was born on March 11, 1943, in White Plains, New York, to the late Joseph Prior and Ann Amaducci. On June 13, 1965, she married Robert J. McCulloch, at First Baptist Church in White Plains, New York. They shared 58 wonderful years together.

Barbara was born and raised in White Plains, NY. She later lived on the island of Crete for a short time while Robert was stationed in the Air Force there. They soon began their life together in White Plains NY before settling in New Breman, Ohio, where she raised her family. In retirement, she made her home in North Royalton, Ohio before moving to Westerville, Ohio, in 2022.

She was an alumna of Rye Country Day School in Rye, New York, and continued her education abroad at the University of Lausanne in Switzerland. She later graduated from Wheelock College in Boston and earned her master's degree in teaching from Manhattanville College in New York.

Barbara dedicated her career to both education and creativity, working as a teacher and interior designer throughout her life. She was a woman of strong Christian faith and lived her life with kindness, compassion, and devotion to her family.

Barbara found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved to paint and play the piano, and she especially cherished time spent with her beloved grandchildren. One of her proudest accomplishments was writing a children's book and starting a kindergarten on the Island of Crete.

She is survived by her children, Kirsten Jane (Dennis) Bradfish, Heather Ann (David) Houston, and RJ (Drew) McCulloch; her grandchildren, Kacie, Jake, and Madison; and her nieces, Karen, Robin, and Dawn.

In addition to her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. McCulloch, and her brother, Ronald Prior.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all those who cared for Mom in her final years, especially the caregivers who supported her and the Hospice team. We are deeply grateful for your compassion and dedication.

Services will be held in June 2026 with more details to be announced in the future. Barbara will be laid to rest at Dayton National Cemetery with her husband, Robert.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Barbara's name may be made to the American Brain Foundation for research.

Barbara will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, faith, and the deep love she had for her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
