To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. I remember seeing Katie here some months ago when she was with you. I admire your dedication in caring for her. Please know we care about you and appreciate your presence here at National Vision. I'm glad to say that our entire Legal Department was there at your funeral. Continued best wishes. My prayers are with you.

Dear Steve and Gina, I cannot being to say how grateful I feel to have been apart of Katie's life. Her smile, her laugh, and of coarse those big blue eyes. She was a blessing from God, and he chose two very special people to be her parents. Katie, we miss you so very much. Our Prayers and thoughts are with you all everyday.

I keep hearing the words to a song that says "When I get to where I'm going don't cry for me down here. She'll walk with her Grandaddy step for step. No one could ever feel your emptiness until they have lost a child. I know how special Katie is and we'll always be here for you and your family.

We have been through good times and bad. Katie Cornbread was like a daughter to all of us in the Hoochie Group. She is so very missed. My heart goes out to you, Chris, Ju Mama, Nancy, and the entire family.

Tami, No one will understand the pain and heartache you are feeling right now unless they have walked in your shoes! God gave you Katiebug for a reason! He hand picked you because he knew that you would be a WONDERFUL MOTHER and a great care-giver. I can't say Katie is in a "better place" because she had the best anyone could ask for. I can say she is in a great place where her body is whole and she no longer suffers or is sick! My thoughts and prayers are with you and remember Katie is still with you she is in your heart! Katie bug was a ray of sunshine with eyes that would just bring you right into her soul every time you looked into them. You are so blesses to have such a wonderful child.
I know in life god puts us through things that we will never understand. He knows his reasoning and we have to believe in him. I know your life has forever changed but god your family and friends will always be here for you. I know you feel like the rug has been pulled out from under you and you will never be able to get back up. Remember this when the rug has been pulled out from under us all we can do is learn how to dance. I love you and if you need me you know I will always be here.
Tami thank you for blessing me with your friendship and giving me the chance to have known Katie. Katie’s memory will forever live :)

Tami - God's timing is not always understood but remember that He is the light and the way and there for you to turn to for guidance in this difficult time. You were blessed with a beautiful angel and now she is in a perfect place and that knowing the Truth through the Word gives us peace. Savannah and I are so happy to have Kyle's family in our life and are especially happy to have known Katie and how very special she is. Take comfort in the Lord and knowing that you were given a special daughter that left you with very special memories. We love you.
