I just recently heard of Debi's passing and it upset me greatly. I did not know her well, but I clearly remember her first limited distance ride that she won way back when and I believe it was at Panther Run. I admired her achievements over the years....

Sandra and Sarah, It has taken me over 2 weeks to write, please know how much I loved and admired your mom. She was a great friend and riding partner. I will always cherish the training rides, and the endurance rides and ridecamps we shared. But most of all, I will never forget your mom's kindness and goodness. She was a unique and irreplaceable person that will always be alive in my memory.

Deb, I'm sure you've found Tootsie, ride her and love her and hug her for me and Dustin. With much love and sorrow, Lynn

Dear Sarah and Sandra,
I was heartbroken to hear about your Mom. I am so sorry for both you girls as I know how devastating losing your Mom is, as my Mom passed away last Monday.
If there is anything I can do, please call. Know that we are all with you in Spirit and are praying for you both, and for your dear Mother. I always admired the relationship you had with your Mom and so enjoyed having you girls around in ridecamp and on the trail. We have some fond memories together and Mia sends her love as well. I love you.

Dear Sandra and Sarah,
I was so very sad to hear about your Mom. She was loved, admired and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Debi was bigger than life. She was bold, courageous, spirited and so very kind.

In the endurance world we shared she will never be forgotten. I never tired of listening to her tell me about her adventures, such as her trip to Dubai. Her trip was unbelievable to me including driving herself and her horse up to JFK thru all that NYC traffic.

I also remember her kindness in bringing me a fabulous meal when I was housebound due to a horse injury.

One day she came by my house to look at one of my horses to see if the horse would be suitable for you girls. I went into the house at some point, and when I came out I saw that Debi must have climbed on the horse bareback and was riding the horse around the yard with no reins or bridle.

Blessings to you both and know that she will always be in my heart.

Dear Sandra and Sara,
I was so shocked and sorry to hear about the loss of your mother, Debi. I do not know any person who did not admire your mother. I think she was one unique person that we will all miss very much. She was a great person to be around, always had a positive attitude and such a wonderful competitor. I hope you girls will come to the rides again soon to visit all of us. You both have a lot of your mother's talent in you.

Dear Sandra and Sara
No words can express how sorry and sad it was to hear about your Mom. We talked last week, yes about horses but also about you girls. She was really proud of you Sara and the work the two of you were doing with your horse. She talked about the surgery and how good it was to have you there to care for her. And you Sandra were the favored sitter of Adian and Emma. Your Mom was proud of both your riding how the young children loved you.

Your Mom was a great competitor. Someone I both respected and admired. I was there for her when she needed me and I will be there for you too. I am in Virginia now but will be in Florida the beginning of Sept. You know where to reach me.
Thinking of you,
Valerie

I am so sorry for your loss. Several years ago I enjoyed riding part of a ctr at Tidewater with Debi, Sandra and Sarah. You all were so friendly and fun to be with on the trail. I would also run into Debi at times when she was conditioning in Citrus tract of the Withlacoochee Forest and she was always gracious enough to stop and chat for a minute even though she was on a training ride. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

I am stunned and saddened by Debi's untimely death. My deepest condolances go out to her family, husband, and especially daughters Sarah and Sandra. May Debi's soul find peace in green meadows & trails of the Great Beyond. May there be a fast horse waiting there to take her on a continuing journey. God Bless.

I was passed by Debbie many times and always admired her ability to ride horses and finish top ten in many endurance rides. She always had a smile and a wave. I attributed her success to her loyal crew, Sandra and Sarah. My sincere blessings to her family.

I didn't know Debbie very well, but I bought a horse from her a few years back(Frenchify) because she knew he would be great for me and he is. My blessings go to the family and I know she'll be missed

I knew Debbi through endurance riding... she used to come over to Val's Bronson farm and train her horses... she'd start at 2:00 a.m. and ride a loop, give the horse a rest, and then do another loop, getting in about 60-70 miles on each horse. Wow! I'd think!

When Debbi went to a competition she had a very focused, no-nonsense approach. You knew she was there to win, not just finish!

Even though Debbi was a top rider she was always considerate when you rode on the trails with her... she had the best trail manners and was always looking out for the "other guy"... if she wanted to canter away she'd check with you to make sure your horse wasn't going to go crazy when she left.

After her divorce she stayed at Val's and would call me to go to Willard's for beer and fries....sometimes we'd go 2-3 times a week and I got to know a very special person.

We stayed in touch after she moved to CT and I laughed when she told me she was training a hunter pony! What a vision I had of that.

God bless Debbi... we all loved and admired her... she has been and will be missed. Cheri McDermott, Bronson Florida

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I first met Debbie at a ride in Florida and got to know her better when we both traveled to and competed in an event in Dubai. She was a talented and committed endurance rider. Our thoughts are with you all.

I am so very sorry to hear of your loss of your kin, Deborah Foti. Though I did not know her personally, I knew *of her*. Through endurance riding, I remember her having top notch horses and being a top notch rider. She is so young to have lost her life. Please know my heartfelt sadness for your loss.

Dearest Sandra and Sarah,

Wade & I think about you and your mother often. We were heart broke to hear of your loss. We so enjoyed the great times we all spent together over the past 10 years and missed the past few. We always admired the love that was always open and visible between you and your mother.

I was telling a friend today about all the endurance rides we shared together. The time your dad brought 40 pounds of mud bugs to FITS and we sat and ate every one. Or when we followed your mom with my truck through the woods as she finished a 100 at Goethe, just to make sure that she was ok alone on the trail in the dark. Even now when someone finishes a ride in record time, we will still comment “Well they still aren’t Debi Foti” and we laugh.

We have missed seeing you these past years and I hope that at some time in the near future you will find some sort of peace in your hearts when you remember these happy times. Wade and I will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

Love,
Laurie
