Adam Szychowski Obituary

SZYCHOWSKI, Adam Marquis Adam Marquis Szychowski of Canton, 23, beloved son of Leszek Szychowski and Bobbie-Ann Marquis, passed away on Friday, (January 11, 2008). Adam grew up in Canton and graduated from Canton High School where he had been a wrestling champion and class president. He was a senior at the University of Connecticut and working toward a double major in Anthropology and Economics with a minor in Eastern European studies. His goal was to attend law school and work in the field of international tribunal law. He was involved in Student Government and was part of the group that re-wrote the sexual assault laws in Connecticut. He was a humanitarian, a writer, an artist, an athlete and a warm and loving person. Besides his parents Adam leaves behind his brother Andre "Anj" Szychowski, his grandfather, Gerald Marquis of North Port, Florida, his great grandmother, Margaret Dailey of Simsbury, his aunts and uncles; Marek and Irmina Szychowski of Colchester, Donna and Fred Cox of Venice, FL, Deborah and Steve Lee of Englewood, FL, Thomas and Nancy Marsh of Germantown, TN, John and Kristy Marquis of Marlborough; his cousins, Kasia Szychowski, Tara and Rodney Spielman, Douglas Honegan, Catherine Cox, James and Marivee Jerome, Avery Marquis, Gerald and Christopher Marquis; his great aunts Margaret Johnson, Kathleen Dailey, Lorraine Dailey and Barbara Hopkins; and his dearest friends Carl Mefferd, Leonard Riccio and Colleen Vellturo. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Edward and Natalia Szychowski, his grandmother Patricia Marquis and his aunt, Suzanne Marquis. Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike, Canton, Wednesday, January 16, 2-5:30 p.m. Funeral service will follow at the funeral home, 5:30 p.m. with the Reverend Mark Diters officiating. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Adam's memory to Scholarship America, Advancement Dept.,4960 Viking Drive, Suite 110, Edina, MN 55435, www.scholarshipamerica.org. Adam will always be in my heart and prayers every single day...we were friends, I'm an anthropology major and we shared mutual friends. Adam was one of the kindest people I had ever met.
