Julienne Rucker Obituary

DENISON - Julienne Rucker, 86-year-old Denison resident, died Thursday, April 30, 2009 at her home in Denison. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 4, 2009 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Denison with the Rev. Dan Gurley officiating.
Bratcher Funeral Home of Denison has charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Rucker was born on Dec. 20, 1922 in Denison, the daughter of John Edward and Julia Ann Walker Dorman. She graduated from Denison High School.
She married the love of her life, Fred Rucker, Sept. 7, 1941 in Durant, Okla.
She was a lifetime member of PTA, Past President of TMC Auxiliary, City Council PTA President, member of NARVE, Alpha Delphi, Denison High School Alumni Association and Red Hat Society. She was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Surviving are son and wife, Ray and Linda Rucker from Denison; daughter and husband Mary and James Fritts of Denison; brother, Bob Dorman and wife Rose of Mead, Okla.; grandchildren, Wiley Fritts of Denison, Marlene Monk of Sherman, Jubal and wife, Sherra Fritts of Denison, Cassie and husband, Steve Denari of Oregon; great-grandchildren, Tripp and Laci Fritts, Caleb and Casey Monk, Faith Fritts and Jack Cooper and Hudson Denari.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Rucker, and son, Fred V. Rucker II.
"Meme" was known as a fun and loving friend, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She could also be very protective. For example, she was President of Peabody Elementary PTA, the McDaniel Jr. High and then Denison Senior High and when her children went to all three schools, she became President of the City Council PTA. "Shorty", was small in stature but big in spirit.
