William F. "Billy" Tibbert, 86, Sarasota died Sept. 26, 2007.
No services are planned at this time. National Cremation Society is in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; a son, William Jr. of Mansfield, Mass.; a daughter, Marcia Peach of Sandwich, Mass.; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
He served in World War II Merchant Marines. He belongs to ACOT (Atlantic Coast Old Timers) and Living Legends of auto racing. He participated in an auto racing career starting in 1941, open wheel midget and stock car racing from Canada, New England to Florida Midwest. Graduated Brockton Business School and attended Bentley School of Accounting.
