Mrs. Elsie Post and Family:
Please accept the sincere condolences of Melvin's Comrades, Brothers and Sisters, and Friends of the China-Burma-India Veterans Association. Notification came from the Houston Basha today. I can be sure that he will be sorely missed by his many friends and family.
We, of the CBIVeterans are losing our long-time friends all too fast these days although, in our age group, we must expect this.
May God Bless this grieving family and friends as you honor the life of Melvin Post and, the wonderful years which you have shared together. Amen. Wendall A. Phillips, Chaplain, CBIVA.

I will always have fond memories of Mr. Post and my father (Leslie) seeking each other out to have coffee and conversation after 1st service at St. Mark. Church just wasn't complete if they couldn't spend some time talking about Czech stuff, gardening or sharing old WW II stories. When my parents health began to suffer a few years ago Mr. Post was always so kind to enquire about them. I like to think that the two of them now in heaven, are talking about old times over a cup of coffee after a rousing worship of our Lord & Savior. May the Peace of our Heavenly Father bless you and allow you to rejoice in Mel's new found perfection.

Along with being a wonderful uncle, my Uncle Melvin was a great storyteller. Just listening to the stories of his youth -because he remembered EVERY detail - was such a treat for me, and I will miss those times. He loved his family - his wife, daughter, and his son, but it didn't stop there. His love and concern extended to everyone with whom he was connected. No one worried about all of us like Uncle Melvin! I believe that Heaven became an even MORE joyful place when Uncle Melvin joined the realm of saints. My love, prayers, and sympathy go out to all his family and friends.
