Yolanda, A, Jojo, Mitchell, Marlon & 'Legra.
The strength of the Heavenly Father, the peace of CHRIST, and the comfort of the Holy Spirit reside in and around you all, today and for all years to come. I've been blessed and privileged to know your mother and, of course, all her wonderfully unique children. She could always put a smile on my face, laugh in my belly, thought on my mind, & encouragement in my heart. With me, as well as with so many others, she constantly showed a steadfast character and personality. At home, grocery store, or church event, wherever I saw her over the years...she was always the same person. No facades, always genuine, always sincere. A smile, a hug, a pat of the arm...that loving warm human touch.
She will be fondly missed...'cause she will be so fondly remembered. My prayers are with you all.

Several years ago I served in music ministry with Carolyn at Brooks Chapel UMC. What I remember most about her was her love for and enthusiastic praise of God. While her parting is painful, I rejoice in my belief that she was a woman of true faith who is not lost in her passing.

I had the pleasure of being around the Adams family as youth, and the whole family was filled with love. At the center of it was Momma Carolyn, she displayed such a beautiful smile and a beautiful sense of humor. Even though years have passed since I've last spoken with her, i can still remember her beautiful smile and her voice full of love. I am thankful for the time me and my family was able to spend with her, as she was always an encouragement to us all. You will be greatly missed Momma Carolyn..

Ms. Adams, it's your little blondie. You were a major part of so much of my young life... from watching Jeopardy in the Black Mack to just talking to you about my dreams for the future, you were there. I am so sorry I couldn't make it home to say goodbye, but like you said... I gotta keep up the schoolwork. It's so hard for me to write these words, but this is the best I can do for closure. October 20, 2008
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, ""I welcome you.""
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......""My day was not in vain.""
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I know the walk that you all are taking right now. In 1998, "The Battle Is Not Your, It's The Lord's" was my song of inspiriation during the illness of breast cancer of my beloved mother who passed away on February 22, 1999. Keep the faith and know that He is your will and strenght.

Mama Francis, Yolanda, Jo Jo, Atra, Mitchell, Marlon, and Baby A (Allegro), and indeed, the entire Adams family, all of you are loved more than you know. The Richard family and the Adams family were joined together by GOD as one; and one family we are! Carolyn and I enjoyed life, love, family, food, fun, and fellowship together with our children and friends as we struggled to bring them up in CHRIST. Since 1981, we shared one another's homes, hopes, and aspirations for the future. Watching our families grow, we also shared some smiles, some frowns, some ups, some downs, some laughter, and some tears. No matter what, the love we shared, lingers on. I miss you Carolyn; my sister, my friend. But according to GOD'S WORD, this is not the end. So instead of saying good-bye, I'll just say, see you later, on the other side!
Family, the LORD JESUS CHRIST loves you, and HE cares like no othe can. Keep looking to HIM, and HE will comfort and strengthen your hearts.
With Heartfelt Sympathy,
Beverly Richard (Ms. Richard)

My condolences to The Adams Family. Thanks for sharing her with us. She was one of the kindest people I ever met and will never forget her. She always had a smile on her face. My daughters went to St. Theresa and had the pleasure of having her as a teacher. They would always come home and tell me something witty or funny she said that day. She was so caring of all the children and they loved her for it. I too, got to know her well as I was very involved during those years at St. Theresa. She loved her family very much and always talked about her children. I was fortunate to see Mrs. Adams again at her retirement party and finally get to meet the family she so loved and was so proud of.
When your heart is empty, filling it with happy memories can help. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I am deeply sorry to hear about your mother passing, we know she was saved and Heaven awaits her entrance. There is never a good time to say good-bye to a loved one, but in this time of sorrow, continue to give God the Praise.
