Helen Thomas Obituary

Helen L. Thomas (Gowans) Apr. 26, 1921 - Sept. 17, 2010 Resident of Hayward Helen L. Thomas (Gowans) beloved wife, mother, grand-mother, great grandmother, peacefully passed away on Sept. 17, 2010. She was 89 and a 5th generation native of CA born in Guerneville, April 26, 1921. After business school & during WWII she worked with the U.S.Navy longshoremen in San Francisco. She was happily married to David W. Thomas for 55 years. Helen served the community and LDS Church, as missionary. She is survived by daughters, Shirley Kafka, Marilyn Kocmick, and Esther Clayson, brother Stuart T. Gowans, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. A private graveside service was held at Chapel of the Chimes, Hayward, Sept 22.
