Daniel Doiy Obituary

Daniel G. Doiy Resident of Hayward Passed away on Oct. 13 after a long battle with cancer. A long-time political and animal rights activist, he was born in 1938 in Akron, Ohio. He served in the Navy aboard the USS Intrepid before moving West during the heyday of the 1960's; finally settling down to work 26 years at Cal State Hayward as a systems engineer. He is survived by his daughter Danielle Addleman (Aaron); sons Jason Doiy (Caroline) and Alex Craig; grandson Micah Addleman. There will be a small family memorial on Oct 23. I'll miss Danny, we used to hang around on North Hill and watch Steve Allen. The last time I seen him was in Las Vegas. Didn't know much after that about Danny. God Bless him, James Weaver

Bobby Olds was a good friend from 1956 on from North Hill area. Hello Penny, my condolences. I was saddened to hear about Danny's passing, love Bob Olds. May God bless and keep all of you.

There are wonderful memories of his love for music, especially jazz in his early years, politics, education, the outdoors, and, of course, his amazing children. A donation in his memory has been made to the American Cancer Society.
