Ruth N. Sandoval

Ruth N. Sandoval Resident of Stockton, CA Ruth entered this world on July 9 and passed on October 9th. Ruth lived a wonderful and interesting life for 92 years. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Clyde and Edna Wyman who precede her in death. Ruth spent the early years of her life in Tulsa, Oklahoma. As a young woman she attended the University of Tulsa where she met her future husband James Craddock. While married to James, Ruth gave birth to Deon and Dennis who she treasured. Ruth and her family later moved to California and settled in the East Bay. She cherished the time she spent raising her children. Ruth spent countless hours playing bridge and mahjong with the many close friends she had. Ruth also enjoyed cooking for her family, sewing, reading, travelling and talking about her Oakland A's. In Ruth's later years she went to work as an advertising coordinator for the Daily Review newspaper in Hayward. While working at the Daily Review, Ruth met the love of her life, John Sandoval who she later married. Ruth and John loved to travel and spend time with their grandchildren. The couple took great pride and joy in helping plan the new Episcopal Church, Holy Cross in Castro Valley. After her beloved John passed away Ruth moved to Stockton to be closer to her family. Ruth lived at O'Conner Woods where she spent the last years of her life enjoying her family, residents and staff. All of us who knew Ruth will always remember her radiant smile, indomitable spirit and the deep love she had for her family. Ruth would be disappointed if we also didn't remember her as the 2000 Seawell family "31" card tournament champion. Nanna, we will never forget! Ruth was preceded in death by Clyde and Edna Wyman (parents), James Craddock (husband), John Sandoval (Husband), Donald Wyman (brother), and Chuck Craddock (grandson). Ruth is survived by her two children, Deon Seawell (Jack) and Dennis Craddock (Beverly). Ruth was a fun and loving grandmother to David Seawell (Erica), Michael Seawell (Robyn), Dana Gonzalez (Teddy) and Julie Morton. God blessed Ruth with 12 great-grand-children. Dustin, Ty, Conor, Michael, Courtney, Brooke and Cameron Seawell, Nicholas, Marcus and Cassie Gonzalez and Kylie and Caden Morton. A special thank you to all of the staff at O'Conner Woods and Hospice of San Joaquin County. Ruth and her family appreciate the care and kindness Ruth received. Services: A celebration of Ruth's life will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anne's Episcopal Church 1020 W. Lincoln Road, Stockton, CA.
