I met Barbara through her daughter Kathie and John Nichols in the early 1970s. I will always remember what a vibrant and fun-loving family the Bishops were and that Barbara was the glue that held the family together. My first impression was how interested she always was in what you were saying, looking directly into your face, and appeared to be hanging on every word uttered. My bubble was burst when Kathie told me that Barbara was actually needing to look at my face since she was actually lip reading! What a great laugh we all had on that one! To all of the Bishop family my sincerest sympathies. Losing your mother is so terribly difficult--there will never be anyone like her. May you always remember her with love and smiles. I miss her so much and am so grateful to have had her as a mom, mentor and a friend.
