Odessa Battle Obituary

Odessa Battle Sept. 16, 1923 - Nov. 1, 2010 Resident of Oakland, CA Odessa Battle, age 87, a native of Cleveland, OH, passed away on November 1, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband Cornelius Battle. She retired from Lilli Anne of San Francisco, CA as a seamstress and later as a teacher of adult ed from the Oakland School District. Odessa enjoyed sewing, crafts and cards along with shopping and dining out. In past she could be found helping with the food program at the church; Odessa's greatest joy was serving the Lord. Odessa will be dearly missed by her family and friends. A viewing will be held Thursday, November 4, at Thompson Funeral, 9900 International Blvd., Oakland, CA, 3:00 PM. A homegoing celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 5 at Shiloh Baptist Church 22582 So. Garden Avenue, Hayward, CA.
