Flavio Paolo Perfumo

Flavio Paolo Perfumo Resident of Hayward passed away at his Hayward home on Nov. 13. He was 90. Born near Genoa, Italy in 1920, Flavio immigrated to the United States in 1949. He married Alberta Peixoto Perfumo in 1950 and was the loving father of Paul Perfumo of Hayward, Paulette Perfumo of Hayward, Pam Perfumo Pueschel of San Ramon, and Trish Shapland of San Ramon. Flavio was a long time resident of Hayward, and owned "Flavio's Barber Shop" on Winton Avenue for many years before his retirement in 1984. He had a lifelong love of fishing and spent many happy days of retirement trolling for trophy trout in San Pablo Reservoir and fishing at other local lakes and streams. He also loved to play Mexican Train dominoes-and taught all his friends and family the game so they could join in the fun. He enjoyed playing right to his last days. His joy of life and his loving presence will be deeply missed by his children and his many grandchildren, great grand-children, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends. His charming accent and his radiant smile are memories we will all cherish whenever we think of him, and we are comforted to know he is now dancing in heaven with his beloved "Sunshine", Alberta. Flavio was an active parishioner and usher at All Saints Catholic Church in Hayward, and a celebration of his life will be held there on Monday, December 6th, at 10:30 am.
