Loeta Faye Tiner

Loeta Faye Tiner Livermore, California Aug 13, 1934 - Nov 21, 2010 Loeta Faye Tiner passed away at her daughter, Kelle's home in Ripon, CA. She died on the 18th anniversary of her husband, Leroy's death. She was 76 years young. Loeta was the youngest of 6 children, born to Albert and Elizabeth Downum in Fame, OK. Her family came to California during the depression where they were migrant farm workers in the Central Valley. Her parents settled in Richmond during WWII to work in the ship yards. She graduated Richmond High School in 1952. In 1957, she married Leroy Tiner. They lived in Fremont from 1963 until 1979 and enjoyed living on a small street with many other young families. In 1979 she and Leroy moved their family from suburbia to the wild hinter lands of the Livermore Valley and built a house in the foothills. Loeta was a working, Super-Mom, who retired from Terminal Sales in 1992. In retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, walking with her friend Ann, aerobics, line-dancing classes and going on adventures. Survivors include: Kim Tankersley (Rick) of Discovery Bay, CA; Robin Tiner (Sandra) of Santa Cruz, CA; and Kelle Schroeder (Warren) of Ripon, CA; six grandchildren: AJ, Stephanie, Kyle, Chance, Rees and Delaney; sister: Dorotha Huddleston; and brother: Thomas Downum. Services will be held 1pm December 4, 2010 at Callaghan's Mortuary in Livermore, CA.
