Patricia Mensing Obituary

Patricia Kay Mensing Resident of Pleasanton Patricia passed away on November 29th, 2010 in her home after a long, courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Pat was born January 3, 1951, in Luzerne, IA. Daughter of Kenneth and Olive (Boehmke) Kramer. Pat was a wonderful Christian woman who was loved by everyone who met her, touched countless lives, and was always positive. She loved gardening, quilting, cooking, dancing, and spending time with her family and friends. She is dearly loved, and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her daughters, Olivia Mensing of Pleasanton and Brooke Whiteside of San Diego, and husband Joel, brother James Bockholt of Palo Alto, and wife Mako, her family in Iowa, including sister Anne Brecht, and husband Ray, step-mother Verna Kramer, step-sister Linda McElroy, and husband Glen, step-brother Russell Johnson, and wife Bonnie, step-brother Kenneth Johnson, step-brother Glen Johnson, and wife Kathy, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother,Donn Kramer. A memorial service will be held at 11am on December 11, 2010, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1225 Hopyard Road, Pleasanton. Donations can be sent to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund at www.ocrf.org. Flowers are being provided by Bloomies on Main (925-931-1290).

I had the pleasure of singing with Pat in our Eternal Light group at St. Paul Lutheran Church. What a beautiful voice Pat had. I tried to sing like her but never could. It has been 25+ years since I've seen Pat, but I still remember her voice!

Pat's sense of humor and ever present positive attitiude is what we will always remember..We loved her dearly from the first day we met at St. Paul back in the seventies..co counseling the youth group..the retreats..everything was an adventure..we laughed a lot..beautiful memories of a beautiful person..she was a joyful spirit in our lives..WE will never forget her..much love..Walter & Harriet Carlson
