Paul Crane Obituary

Paul Crane a long time resident of Alameda Passed peacefully at home December 6th 2010 at the age of 97. A Master Cabinet maker of 74 years, Paul spent 32 years of continuous service in the Navy and Navy reserves. He was pre-deceased by his wife Jeanette of 62 years, Brother Alfred Lee (A.L.), Sisters Mildred and Lois, Parents Bryan Jackson (BJ) and Callie Crane. Born in Saltillo Texas in 1913, Paul was the youngest of four children born to B.J. and Callie Crane. Paul joined the Navy in 1930 where he met his wife Jeanette and were married in 1934. Paul continued in the Navy Reserves until 1941 and was called back for World War II where he served aboard the U.S.S. Wasmuth and was stationed in the South Pacific. In 1967 Paul and Jeanette bought their first home and moved to Alameda. In 1976 he retired and devoted his time to his garden and woodworking projects. Paul will be fondly remembered by many special friends including Pamela & Ron Piotrowski, Noel & Roger Wise, Michael Berndt, Jeanne Allingham of Vallejo and Karen Lang of Virginia. Cremation, Neptune Society of Emeryville. A Private service will be held later. Donations in memory of Paul Crane can be made to the John Wayne Cancer Institute
