I'm sure Dennis made more of an impression on me than I made on him. I was just another face in the crowd that Saturday morning in 1990, as Dennis started the ground school for the next class of skydivers. In three years I made 22 jumps at GLS (still have my logbook) before I gave it up to start flight training.

I can still hear is ground-control voice on the little pocket radio: "Number one -- turn left! . . . Stop turning!"

Now he's packing his rig to jump with the angels.

Dennis helped change my life. He encouraged a passion for life that I have shared with many others. He gracefully and beautifully touched many, many lives, and that passion he shared will live in all of us.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the Johnson families. We were sadded by the news of Dennis's passing. Dennis always made us welcome, and he inspired me in the way he lived his dream and passion.

My first memory of Dennis was in 1967 when Uncle Chuck was dating Aunt Kay. Kay took us over to her house to meet her family. Dennis was out front mowing the lawn, and later; let my brother and I shoot his BB-gun, which at nine years old; leaves a lasting first impression. May God bless Dennis and Mary, and all of the friends, fans, and familes who will miss him.
