I'm so sorry to hear about Stephen. I hadn't seen him in years since he and his family moved away from our small town. I remember playing on the playground with him and playing in my grandma's yard...I was so sad when he and his sister moved away. And I'm sad again today. See you on the other side.

I was truly saddened when I heard you had lost Stephen. The last time I saw him he was a lanky kid and I understand he grew into a fine young man and a fine Marine. I notice many people speak of how kind he was and while I spent very little time with him that part of him was always very evident to me. In our Country it is the few who freely protect the many. I had only shared a few words with stephen but i knew from those few words that he was a genuine man... i was part of his unit and i felt as though i had lost a bother. My heart goes out to the family, friends, and Marine family of Stephen. My brother is a Marine, and I come from a military family. Stephen gave his life for his country, the greatest sacrifice anyone can give. I thank his spirit for his service and pray for the loss of his family and those close to him that they may find peace that he is now at rest. My deepest condolences on your tremendous loss. My son is in the Navy and I can't imagine what you're going throught right now. Without brave men like Lance Cpl Stephen Dearmon, I would not have the freedom I enjoy every day. I feel it's my duty now to pay respect to him and thank his family for his ultimate sacrifice. Stephen, god bless you soldier and thank you for your service to a grateful nation, forever we will mourn you and all of our fallen heroes both before and after you. On 5/6/08 my nephew PFC Aaron J. Ward was killed in action in Iraq while on a routine patrol. My promise to him was that I would never forget him but also those fallen before and after him. When I made that promise to him the day we laid him to his final resting place I did not realize how often I would need to make entries on Legacy and it just breaks my heart knowing that so many other families have and will continue to feel the pain that our family has endured. Since the loss of my nephew I have written on every single legacy page of every fallen soldier and included a photo of my nephew. I encourage you to do the same to Aaron's page. I have done this to honor my nephew but to let you know Stephen is not alone and my nephew is with him and they are now in God's gracious hands waiting for us to join them one day. Im so sorry for your loss. I trained with Stephen at DINFOS and Im sure everyone in our class would agree that Stephen was a standup marine and a pleasure to be around everyday. No matter the situation or circumstance, Stephen was always motivated and cheerful. It was an honor to have known him. You should be very proud of the man you raised. God Bless

Robin, There arent enough words to tell you how sorry I am about the loss of Steph. He was a wonderful young man. I loved watching the two of you together, it was like two big kids. There was never any question about the love you had for each other. I really enjoyed the short amount of time that I got to spend with him. I feel he will always be with all of you. I am so sorry and I love all of you.

It broke my heart when I heard the news about Stephen. He was a wonderful young man and I remember how much fun we had when we were all together. He brought life to the party. The thing that sticks out most in my mind is how handsome and proud he looked in his uniform while standing beside you at your wedding. It was truly obvious just how much he loved you. You should be proud for raising such an upstanding young man. He loved serving his country and gave the greatest sacrifice. I love all of you, I will keep you in my prayers each and every day.
